I have always enjoyed helping others. Being a Professional School Counselor is one of the best ways that I can think of to make a positive impact on lives. Our youth are in such need of positive role models, guidance and team players on their side in a proactive way, advocating for them and their best interests. As a mother of young adult boys, I have seen and heard a lot. I have a heart for the younger population. My desire is to help kids and teens realize that they have a support system, to develop a realistic self-awareness, to focus on their goals and to help them plan a path to reach those goals.
Some of the strengths that I bring into the school counseling center are an empathetic nature, a desire to always be encouraging, an understanding of how important it is to sometimes just "go with the flow", strong organizational skills and most importantly communication skills that allow me to work successfully with students, parents and school staff.
